iTunes Match Coming Tuesday Oct 25th?

*Warning Unverified Rumor*

<grainofsalt>

We have received an anonymous tip that iTunes Match will come out next week on Tuesday October 25th.  While the rest of iCloud launched last week, there were many problems with the system being overloaded.  Apple probably delayed iTunes Match due to the intensive processing they will have to do to build up everyone’s playlists that subscribe once it’s release.  We were also told that likely the service will be rolled out for the US first then other countries in a staggered fashion.

Apple To Skip 10.7.1 Go Straight To 10.7.2 And iCloud Launch

While just a rumor at this point, Apple has yet to launch any testing of 10.7.1 and is heavily invested in 10.7.2 with beta 7 having come out recently.  Apple may be preparing to beat their advertised iCloud launch estimate of this fall, though, September 21st is not that far off.  Testing seeds take a few weeks to hammer out, and if Apple were to launch iCloud publicly Sept 21st then it makes sense that they have skipped 10.7.1.

Apple may also be facing pressure from Amazon and Google who are trying to bolster their cloud offerings after Apple’s announcements stole the show a few months back, and also they may be trying to beat the downturn in the economy and get as many users signed up as fast as possible.  There’s also the guess that the iPhone 5 will be released in September as well which would coincide with 10.7.2 launching along with updated versions of iTunes and other associated apps and/or apps that currently have the triggered functionality inside them already.

International Business Times: iPad 2 Plus Not iPad 3

IBTimes is reporting that the next generation of the iPad will be called the iPad 2 Plus.  While not many details were talked about, it was interesting that the main upgrade might be a Retina Display upgrade to the device.  It would be somewhere around 250-300 ppi vs the current 132 ppi, the iPhone sports 326 ppi.  If the rumors are correct it could reduce the shipments in the fall of the iPad 2 as consumers naturally will begin waiting to see what comes out next.

2012 To Introduce Next Generation iPhone

While we still do not know the full details of this year’s iPhone refresh other than the rumored 8 Megapixel camera and a launch window in September, information is leaking out about the next iPhone.

Sources claim that next year’s iPhone will drop the iTunes cable in favor of possibly a MicroUSB port to bring it in line with EU requirements for phone chargers, and also introduce an inductive charging system.  Other improvements would be in the video recording abilities of the camera along with possible faster memory that may be introduced in the 2011 MacBookAir refresh.  Other possibilities include the rumored A6 processor which may be introduced with an iPad3, and a prepaid version of the iPhone to fit the demands of the prepaid market.  If not this year, then next year’s iPhone will also feature LTE connectivity although we still believe that this feature will be introduced this year possibly as an option you have to turn on with the understanding battery life may not be optimal.

Pegatron Accepts Order For 15 Million “Next Gen” iPhones

Digitimes reports that Pegatron has received an order for 15 million “Next Generation” iPhones with a ship date of September.  It’s interesting that Foxconn has not received this order, but Pegatron has been building devices for Apple already as they reported less revenue due to a decrease in iPhone 4 orders in 2011.  With a ship month of September it appears that we may hear an announcement this month from Apple for an event that lays out the next iPhone and it’s release date.

New Airport Extreme Base Stations and Time Capsules Imminent

According to 9to5Mac they are reporting new model numbers and claiming lower prices of Airport Extreme Base Stations and Time Capsules to arrive any day now.  I’ve checked the Apple Store and it still shows ships in 24 hours so no clues there.  It is thought that today will be the day these release, however I also wonder if it will coincide with a MacBook Air refresh which could feature 450Mbps wi-fi that’s been included in the new MacBook Pro’s and iMac’s.

Breaking – Unlocked iPhones Tuesday June 14th

If this is true then customers who has a compatible CDMA or GSM service in the US will be able to buy an iPhone unlocked for full retail price and use it on a carrier of their choosing.  This information provided by Chronicwire over at Twitter is the latest in a series of Rumors including the Back to School sales, and a refresh of the MacBook Air hardware to include Sandybridge and Thunderbolt.  It looks like these announcements will be quiet and expect to see the next Apple media event sometime in September for their usual, but this time we may get a date for iOS 5, although Fall technically goes through Dec 21st, lets hope that Apple does not pull an AT&T with the launch date.

Visual Refresh Due for Apple Stores Tuesday June 14th

Reports before have hinted at a visual refresh on Tuesday June 14th, and last night Chronicwire over at twitter mentioned it would be for the Back to School promotion along with a hardware refresh of the MacBook Air releasing on Wednesday.

Rumor – MacBook Air Wednesday June 15th

Update:  The real story it seems was the device ID’s turned out to be iPhone device id’s possibly unlocked iphones!

Chronicwire over at Twitter has put out that Apple may release a SandyBridge based MacBook Air this June 15th 2011.  There have been rumors picking up over the last few days about this from the usual sources.  This new MacBook Air may contain along with the usual new ThunderBolt port, but SATA 6G performing SSD’s.  It will also come with a free upgrade to Lion as with any other Mac’s being sold after the WWDC announcement.  Suspect it will be an i3, with BTO to i5 or i7 processors, 4G of memory standard, and may start with a 240/256G SSD.  The long shot would be a Tri Gate 22nm processor which Intel may or may not be producing in quantity, but Apple has a record for being the first to out new tech from Intel.
