If this is true then customers who has a compatible CDMA or GSM service in the US will be able to buy an iPhone unlocked for full retail price and use it on a carrier of their choosing. This information provided by Chronicwire over at Twitter is the latest in a series of Rumors including the Back to School sales, and a refresh of the MacBook Air hardware to include Sandybridge and Thunderbolt. It looks like these announcements will be quiet and expect to see the next Apple media event sometime in September for their usual, but this time we may get a date for iOS 5, although Fall technically goes through Dec 21st, lets hope that Apple does not pull an AT&T with the launch date.

WWDC Fails to Deliver on Back to School Special yet.
Many people had hoped that Apple would announce this years Back To School sales information. This has yet to materialize as of yet, but the week has just started. Usually it has been announced by now, but more than likely Apple which loves control of it’s product messages is waiting until the current announcements have been absorbed into the minds of their fans and the media. It may be this week something is announced later on, or it may be two weeks from now. Retailers Dell and HP have not announced their Back to School sales yet as well so Apple may not be in any particular hurry. Also some of the products such as the Mac Mini, and Mac Pro have not been updated and Apple may opt to announce those first, and then begin their promotion to boost sales.
